All Services & Events are currently cancelled and all Buildings closed, in line with Church of England Rules. Clergy may be contacted by email or phone as usual.

On Sunday 5th April, the Palm Sunday Service will start earlier at 10.30am because of the Blessing & Procession of Palms and dramatic Passion Gospel, still to end by 12noon.  Our Celebrant would have been Fr Nigel. After Mass, Refreshments & Bountiful Table of Baking, Preserves & Produce.

As we start the journey of Holy Week with Jesus and his Disciples, there is the traditional Blessing and Procession of Palms, singing “All Glory, Laud & Honour” and “Ride on, ride on in Majesty” around Mount Dinham, weather permitting. Then the long Passion Gospel this year according to Matthew is sung dramatically, with different voices as Evangelist, High Priest, Pilate, Judas, Jesus and the crowd.

Today at 6pm there is Evensong & Benediction. Byrd Responses, Gibbons Short Service. Solus ad Victimam, by Leighton.

 

 

In 2019, Hymns: 509: 86: 439. Setting: Mass in the Dorian Mode, Tallis. Motet: Ave Verum, Byrd.

In 2018 we sang the Plainsong Propers of the Day, hymn “My song is love unknown”, a simple Mass Setting by Upton, and motet “Hosanna to the Son of David” by Weelkes. Organist was Nigel Browne.

In 2017 we sang Mass i the Phrygian Mode by Charles Wood, and “Hosanna to the Son of David” by Weelkes.

In 2016 we sang Darke in F; and the Motet “When I survey the wondrous Cross” by Wilby.

In 2015 we sang the congregational Mass setting, Leighton in D, and the motet “Pueri Hebraeorum” by Victoria.
