Join us for an afternoon of glorious music-making in preparation for singing Gabrielle Fauré’s Requiem, composed between 1887 and 1900. This is a gentle, 35 minute choral and organ setting of the Mass for the Dead, led by Anthony Musson, former Director of Chapel Music at the University of Exeter, with organist Matt Clark.
Singers of all voice parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) are warmly invited to Come & Sing with members of St Michael’s choir and associates.
In seven movements, Fauré’s Requiem is scored for soprano and baritone soloists and mixed choir. The final movement In Paradisum is based on a text that is not part of the litugy of the funeral mass, but of the burial.
