Music Associates:
St Michael’s also warmly welcomes guest conductors and organists for special services including Feast Days and Evensong. This enhances the beauty and excellence of the choral music tradition here and provides continuing professional development for the choir and offers opportunities for external singers to take part. The contribution of associate musicians also enriches the experience of music in the liturgy for the congregation, participants and audiences.
Since 2025, associate musicians have included Exeter Cathedral Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars as vocal soloists, accompanists and conductors; Michael Graham, Matthew Jeffrey, Joe Ward and Benjamin Irvine Capel.
In addition, Exeter Cathedral’s Director of Music, Timothy Noon and members of the University of Exeter Chapel Choir, its organist and organ scholars have contributed to some of our special services and events.
