Friday 7th September at 10am, the Lord Mayor of Exeter will be officially handing the key to St. Nicholas Priory, The Mint, to the Exeter Historic Buildings Trust, for the payment of a loaf of locally-baked bread.
The press will be there, so come and view the spectacle of the Mayor in his robes, and lads and wenches in Tudor costume! And members of St Michael’s Choir will be singing a little Tudor music.
Specially invited guests will be offered wine and bread and a tour of the Priory. But for those not invited, you can come and see the inside of both wings of the Priory on Saturday and Sunday 8th & 9th, and 15th & 16th September, 11am – 4pm, free entry, with guided tours at 11.30, 1pm and 2.30pm.
Remember that St Michael’s Mount Dinham will also be open on these days for Heritage Open Day events celebrating its 150 years.
