As most of you will know it is St Michael’s 150th anniversary this year and, to celebrate our continuing, splendid existence (Praise be to God!), we are to be enjoying a whole series of wonderful events.
Principal among these is a magnificent celebratory High Mass on Saturday 29th September. This will begin with a gathering at St David’s Church from 4.00pm with Prayers; followed by a procession down St David’s Hill at 4.30 to St Michael’s Church; there Solemn Sung Mass will be celebrated at 5pm; followed by a sumptuous buffet feast at about 6.30pm. All are welcome to all or part of this great day!
To help us cater properly for the Buffet, please download the Invitation Letter below and return the Reply Slip with payment to Paula Lewis as indicated.
Clergy and Choristers please vest magnificently. Please bring your friends and their friends. This is an occasion not to miss! Music to include many glorious hymns, Locus Iste by Anton Bruckner, Mass Setting & Motet by Charles Villiers Stanford.
On Sunday 30th September we shall have a further Sung Mass and more fun at 11am with Venerable David Gunn-Johnson as our Guest Preacher – so why not book the weekend off and relish the glories of Anglo-catholic liturgy in this very special Church? Music to include a new Motet “O glorious Prince St Michael” by Graham Keitch.
