This year we celebrate the Feast of All Saints on Sunday 30th October with Sung Mass at 10.45am, with White being the Liturgical Colour. The Preacher & Celebrant will be Ven David Gunn-Johnson.
(All Saints’ Day, 1st November, itself falls on a Tuesday, so you could come to Vespers at 6pm.)
Music will be the Missa “O Quam Gloriosum”, by Tomas Luis da Victoria (1548-1611) based on his Motet for the words:-
O how glorious is the kingdom in which all the saints rejoice with Christ, clad in robes of white they follow the Lamb wherever he goes.
The post-Communion anthem is “Holy is the true light” by Sir William Harris (1883-1973) composed around 1947 to words translated from the Salisbury Diurnal by Rev G H Palmer. and also used by Howells in Hymnus Paradisi.
Holy is the True Light, and passing wonderful,
lending radiance to them that endured in the heat of the conflict.
From Christ they inherit a home of unfading splendour,
wherein they rejoice with gladness evermore. Alleluia!
