Exeter Chorale, directed by John Draisey, makes a welcome return to St Michael’s with a Tea-time Concert at 4.30pm on Sunday 30th June.
The programme will feature a variety of Madrigals and Part-Songs united by the theme of “Time” – a Tea-time Music, one might say. From “April is in my mistress’ face” to “The long day closes”, there’s also music by Dowland, Henry Smart, Parry & Stanford, plus instrumental interludes.
This is a Charity Concert in aid of Hospiscare and we arre delighted that the Lord Mayor of Exeter will attend this event.
(We shall be performing a similar programme at Sidholme Hotel, Sidmouth, on Thursday 18th July.
All this accompanied by Home-made Cakes and Tea or Coffee, while you enjoy the beauty of St Michael’s Church and Mount Dinham on a Summer’s afternoon. Mount Dinham was developed by the eponymous Exeter Tea Merchant John Dinham (1788-1864) and the Church built in his memory opened in 1868 to serve the local community.
Admission is £10 on the door (including Programme and Refreshments); Children free.
