The Advent Procession is on Sunday 9th December at 6pm. Prayers, Readings, Hymns, Carols and Candles illuminate the plainsong Great O Antiphons, which we also hear in the Advent Hymn “O come, O come Emmanuel”, and culminate in a choral setting of the Magnificat. The final hymn is “Lo, he comes with clouds descending.” Please join us for this special Candlelit Service of darkness & light, mystery & beauty.
Please download and share the spectacular Poster from the link below – Lo! He comes in clouds descending.
This Service takes place on the 2nd Sunday of Advent, 9th December at 6pm, to avoid clashing with the Cathedral’s similar Advent Service a week earlier..
There will be Seasonal Refreshments of mulled wine & mince pies after the Service.
Competent singers are most welcome to join the choir for this service – we will practice all the music from 4.00pm with a good break before the 6pm start.
In 2017 we welcomed Erika Wagstaff as Conductor and Simon Dunbavand as Organist to lead this beautiful Service.
