Support Us

For more than 150, St Michael’s has been a place of prayer, celebration, music, liturgy, learning, outreach, training and generosity.

In September 2024, through the ambitious vision of our community and supporters, and the combined support of the Bishop and Diocese of Exeter and our Patron the Dean and Chapter of Exeter Cathedral, St Michael’s Mount Dinham became a Conventional District Church within the Benefice. This remarkable development points to the original intention, as inscribed in the church’s foundation document from 1868 – but this is just the first step…

In order to maintain St Michael’s today and for future generations, we need your help to ensure that its future life will be sustainable.  If you feel moved to give and would like to help ensure that St Michael’s has a sustainable future, one or more of the following options may work for you:

1. “Give a Little” Page ~ This is our new online giving platform for direct donations to St Michael’s Mount Dinham, for both one-off or regular gifts. No registration is required. Here is the link: Give a Little” Page

2. St Michael’s bank account ~ Some of our supporters prefer to give through a direct bank transfer – here are the details:

Account name: PCC St Michael Mount Dinham
Sort code: 30-99-50
Account no: 64636062

3. “Parish Giving Scheme ~ Everyone is invited to join the Parish Giving Scheme, which enables both one-off and regular giving. To sign up is easy and regular gifts of any size go a long way to securing the future of St Michael’s. Please visit parishgiving.org.uk and enter the Parish code for St Michael’s (150615072).

If you would like to find out more about giving to St Michael’s, please contact Ian Walker, Treasurer to the PCC:

Now that St Michael’s Mount Dinham is a Conventional District Church, on its way to having its own Parish, we have the opportunity to drive a sustainable vision that will keep it open for future generations. If you are able to give to St Michael’s today, we can continue to be here for you.

Your gift will help us do the following things:

• Keep this precious building well maintained, warm and accessible to all users

• Develop our rich musical tradition and strengthen our heritage outreach

• Keep our doors open through the week for concerts, events, services and community activities

Efforts are underway to raise funds to ensure it remains open as a resource for everyone: for the worshipping community, for local residents, for visitors, musicians, students, audiences and for the volunteers who regularly look after the building.

Volunteering
There are many ways to be a part of the ongoing and evolving life of St Michael’s. The gift of  time and energy is hugely valued and an essential resource for this church and community. Our volunteers enjoy the positive benefits of connection and having fun, of learning about the heritage of Mount Dinham and being part of something which is more than the sum of its parts.

There are different ways to become involved as a volunteer, which includes Stewarding for concerts and events, joining the monthly Big Clean, the Gardening Group, or the Servers team, singing with the Choir, assisting with Administration, joining the Publicity team and much more.

Please contact the Church Wardens Richard Parker and Leontina Cerno if you would like to volunteer at St Michael’s. They would love to hear from you!

Hiring St. Michael’s
Events at the church not only help to pay the bills, but provide an opportunity to share this wonderful church building more widely with the people of Devon. St Michael’s has possibly one of the finest acoustics for music in the South West as well as having an awe-inspiring interior. To request to book the church for your wedding, event or group, please email:

Grants for projects and development
Churches of this size and provenance benefit from grant funding, from public organisations and donations from private individuals. If you have experience of drafting grant applications or if you have an idea for an exciting development project for St Michael’s, please contact the Churchwardens Richard and Leontina:

The reality is that churches in the UK receive no direct Government funding, unlike many of our European neighbours. The income of this church is supported through donations and gifts from the community, individuals and visitors.

All gifts and volunteer support are most gratefully received. Thank you.
