ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all them that are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
INTROIT. Misereris omnium. Wisdom II.
THOU hast mercy on all things, O Lord, and hatest nothing which thou hast created, and winkest at men’s iniquities, because they should amend, and sparest all men for they are thine, O Lord thou thou lover of souls. Ps. 57. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee. V. Glory be.
GRADUAL. Ps. 57. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee. V. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproof of him that would eat me up.

V. Ps. 79. O Lord, remember not our old sins, but have mercy upon us, and that soon: for we are come to great misery. V. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy Name, O Lord: O deliver us and be merciful unto our sins, for thy Name’s sake.
OFFERTORY. Ps. 30. I will magnify thee, O Lord, for thou hast set me up, and not made my foes to triumph over me: O Lord, my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
