Music At St Michael's

Music is integral to the worship at St Michael's church and with its excellent acoustic the church building is often used as a concert venue. Please follow the links to find more information about the musical activities on offer at the church.

St Michael's has an SATB choir who sing each week at the Sunday Mass and monthly evensong, with a smaller contingent also singing plainsong vespers on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. For details of the upcoming music at services please see our music list.

The church has recently developed our existing links with the University of Exeter by setting up a scholarship position for a student director of music, who when appointed will work alongside the current organist Dr Nigel Browne and the interim Director of Music Neil Page.

St Michael's currently has an electric organ and there are hopes that in the future a pipe organ may be installed. For further details of the organ please follow the link.

Clips of the choir singing are now be available by clicking HERE . There are also cd's of the choir made from live recordings at services and concerts available to purchase at the back of the church.
