Once a month the regular Tuesday and Thursday 6pm Service of Plainsong Vespers & Silent Meditation is replaced by a Plainsong Mass for the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament. Founded in 1862 as part of the Catholic Revival in the Church of England, the aim of CBS is to be a confraternity (brotherhood) of men and women praying and working for a greater devotion to Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
All are welcome to join in this Communion Service in the St Clement Chapel, North Transept. It is usually sung to simple plainsong, with Propers of the Feast and Hymns. Fr David Hastings, Superior of the St Clement’s Ward of CBS in Exeter, will normally be the Celebrant. CBS Masses at 6pm for 2017 are:-
